Do not complain about the tasks given. During your training, most probably you will be doing copying large stacks of documents, arranging meetings, and spends most of your time underused and overly bored. Remember, what is important at the training stage is to prove that you can listen and take direction. In other words, "Learn to walk before you run".
Do not feel that you are not respected or given opportunity to learn. As a beginner, you need to be patient for people to build up trust on you. As the saying goes "Rome was not built in a day".
Don't Slack Off in Idle Time
Learn how to manage your time. Manage your time properly and work efficiently and effectively. As time is precious, do not waste it and so, do offer your assistance to other employees who need your help. Do not use your idle time to surf the Internet or talk over the telephone. To the Company, "Time is Money". Remember by helping others, you are learning too.
Do Use Every Opportunity to Learn More Skills
The smartest thing to do is to appreciate every opportunity given, be it small or big. Great things may come from small beginnings. You will normally be just an observer in the earlier part of your training. A proactive way to gain more direct applicable skills is to volunteer and work within your training structure to get your hands dirty as much as possible.
Don't over-sell yourself
Always remember that while you may be doing great in school, you are now surrounded by people who have more experience than you in terms of work and life. Be humble and do not talk about your accomplishments at school until you have been asked.
